I passed my driving test! *waves tiny flag*
grrface
Amy playin' fiddle at the Shetland Folk Festival

In recent-ish news: )

Currently:
  • Practicing for my driving test, which is next week. Would quite like to pass, just so I don't have to go out practicing anymore (driving round in circles). Want to spend my time playing music or going to the gym.
  • Episode 08/Season02 of True Blood was the best yet. I was laughing and squeeing the whole way through it.
Have a Spotify playlist of the songs that are currently making me squirm in joy: Gold Robots in The House

Let me know what songs make you want to molest your bass speaker :D

Whoo, what a relief. That's my second block just about over, and I'm heading home on the plane tonight. Spent the week trying to get as much work finished as possible, so I haven't read much. Not to worry though, with the Amazon voucher Mom and Dad got me for Christmas, I was able to buy many, many new books. Actual impending glee.

Still February is going to be chock-a-block with project work and logbook entries. I look forward to the end of March, and getting everything handed in. Hoping to squidge some excitment in the cracks.

Got my bags packed, and I suspect it's gonna weigh more than 20kg, being that my shoulder cracks every time I pick it up. Since BA has sold our route to FlyBe, they are a lot more strict about such things. Eep.

Have to get back to writing 'Safe Isolation Procedures', which is almost as much fun as it sounds. Have a nice weekend, peoples!

Almost finished my five week stint at Inverness, and I have to say I'm pretty knackered. Been having 12-hour library sessions to try and make sure everything is completely finished before I go home. It's been interesting though, so I hope when my poor brains recover from the shock I actually remember something. Here's the kind of pictures I've been drawing for my project:

Pretty straightforward, but there are so many of them.

I'm planning to have a nice relaxing weekend. It's what's keeping me going. Also lack of constant internet access means I've been buying newspapers everyday. There doesn't seem to be much by way of Radio 4 reception in my part of Inverness, which was quite upsetting, at least until I discovered I could get it over the digibox in my room at the B&B. That's right folks, I'm watching the radio.

Wah! My cute little sister has won the Shetland level of Shell Step's 'Most Enterprising Student' competition. She's been working at Shetland Seafood Auctions over the summer.

Fish Update: “Emily was asked to review the strengths and weaknesses of the current service, undertake market research to find out what buyers and sellers thought of the system, and update the company’s existing promotion and marketing material, including the website.

“With her invaluable help, we’ve compiled a wealth of information to take the system forward and promote the online auction as an attractive and revolutionary proposition."

Shetland News: Emily Was One Step Ahead

I'm so proud <3

In an effort to learn the program 'Soundtrack Pro' I took the volunteer video that Shetland Arts used, cut it up, sampled some of the audio and constructed a score.

Yes it's funny. That's fine :D

Also! I passed my test to recieve funding from SECTT. :)

A horrible morning quandary- you need the caffeine to wake you up, but you're too tired to notice you're drinking decaf instead. OH THE HORROR.

Saturday Night, floating over the city:

And this one is my favourite:

My project two has turned out to be the construction (and reconstruction) of my computer network. Diagrams and pictures, when I've got it all set up. After that, I'll either go on to my website, or on to the making of clothes. Essay writing for the moment :)

The airpressure has dropped down to 965 Millibars, or 28.5 inches, and it's giving me a headache. It also means it's going to be stormy, so be on the lookout for thunder and lightning (or just lots of rain).
